The 1st Retina4Future Scientific Meeting, themed “Uniting Science and Solutions: Accelerating Translation in Retinal Research”, was held on 12-13 March 2026 at NOVA Medical School, Lisbon, Portugal.
The meeting brought together researchers, clinicians, and stakeholders to foster collaboration and promote the translation of retinal research into clinical practice.

Meeting Details
The scientific meeting will be held in person and online. COST will cover allowance expenses (201 EUR per diem) plus transport excluding taxis, for up to 38 participants for a maximum of 3 nights, with priority given to active contributors to the Scientific meeting. Plan your arrival on Wednesday and departure on Saturday, with an option to stay an additional night at your own expense.

- Guided visit to the old NMS Faculty building (March 12)
The Headquarters Building of NOVA Medical School – Faculty of Medical Sciences (NMS|FCM), located on the hill of Sant’Ana, is an impressive Renaissance-style building with a sumptuous facade. It combines balanced proportions with a pleasing ensemble of pronounced dignity and sober ornamentation. In the Sala dos Passos Perdidos, we can admire the tile panels inspired by Jorge Colaço, and the Sala dos Actos, featuring friezes by Veloso Salgado. - Gala Dinner at Casa do Alentejo (March 13)

Walking tour of 3 hours with a certified tourist guide that will give the historical context of the monuments in downtown Lisbon. Due to the expected number of participants, an audio system will be used to improve the audio conditions. The tour will start at Elevador do Lavra (near NMS), covering Av. Liberdade, Restauradores, Rossio, Igreja de S. Domingos, Praça da Figueira, Rossio, Rua Augusta, Elevador de Santa Justa, Chiado Teatro de São Carlos, Cais do Sodré, Ribeira das Naus, Cais das Colunas, and will end at Praça do Comércio. The approximate cost is 20 euros but will depend on the number of participants.
